How Will I Die? Poem by B E A L F A N

How Will I Die?

Rating: 4.0

Will I die,
That I know
But how am I going to die?
That I do not know

What is my destiny?
Is it to die old, frail and weak?
Or is it to die,
With the eternal blaze still burning in me.

Will I die?
Fat, fleshy and big
Never mentioned in the pages of history
Or will I die, fighting the enemy,
Liberating the masses
Thin, emaciated and dirty
But full of glory.

Will I die
On the hands of some vile sickness
Cancer, Gout or Aids
my life fleeing from me
Or will I die
With my body pumped full of lead
Yet smiling, as I watch blood ooze from my head

I will die, surely
But will I not die for a cause?
A cause, so pure, so pristine
Much I value than my life
Free a child,
Bestow freedom
Become Immortal,
die happy
For you has become a liberator
