Huge Nest Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Huge Nest

Huge Nest

I hear loud drums,
See them dancing around.

Feel the wind, hurricane,
Feel trees, fallen, dead.

Feel bodies discovered,
Feel the shouts and anger,
Feel them all, am afraid,
And sort of embarrassed!

Today I took a knife,
Cut my heart into parts.

Dislike this huge nest,
It shelters love and hate,
Must divide, dismantle!

Must accept good, or bad,
It combines this and that!

I finished writing cake,
Felt great, sweetness,
In mouth with bitterness!

Feel dying with venom,
Of snakes and pythons,
Scorpions and serpents!

I recall when she came,
Almost mid-September!

Had Russian pinkish face,
Worked for us, waitress,
On her cheeks ran rivers,
With tears that she shed!

She meant to comfort me,
Aware of depths of it,
My answer was simple:
"Planted, now harvest! "
