Human Henge - An Analemmatic Sundial Poem by Richard Stopps

Human Henge - An Analemmatic Sundial

To stand north faced with arm's stretched
Embracing the warmth of the golden sun
Our life itself casting Time's shadow
O'er runes on earth's own ellipse.

To wonder if our musings matter
Or time passes ignorant of Our being
Fleeting shadows ignorant of laws
Of moon and sun and stars defined

To gaze upon the shadow of life creeping
Across the embedded stones of experience
Slave to time and mathematics that governs
All our goings and comings, until dark
