Human Life Cycle Poem by Ojeikpo Elijah

Human Life Cycle

In the realm of human existence, an ode unfolds,
A tale of life's journey, where time takes its hold.
From birth's tender dawn to the twilight's gentle sigh,
A cycle eternal, where beginnings meet the sky.

As infants, we emerge with a cry so pure,
A spark igniting, a soul so secure.
In innocence's embrace, we find our way,
A world of wonder, where dreams hold sway.

Through childhood's meadows, we dance with glee,
Laughter echoing, spirits wild and free.
With boundless curiosity, we explore and create,
Our minds unburdened, our hearts elate.

Adolescence arrives, a tempestuous tide,
Hormones raging, emotions untried.
We seek our place, our identity's quest,
Molding our paths, in adulthood's test.

At life's zenith, adulthood takes its stage,
Joys and struggles, a complex collage.
Careers are built, families take root,
Time's swift passage, a bittersweet truth.

Middle age beckons, a time to ponder,
Reflecting on journeys, both near and yonder.
Dreams pursued, fears bravely faced,
As the twilight of life's eve is embraced.

And then, the circle's end draws near,
Memories cherished, battles held dear.
With a final breath, we bid farewell,
To this mortal realm, where stories dwell.

Yet, the cycle persists, an eternal thread,
As loved ones carry our legacy ahead.
For in the tapestry of human life,
An ode resounds, a symphony of strife.

So, embrace this journey, with all its might,
For life's grand symphony is a wondrous sight.
In the circle of existence, we find our place,
An ode to humanity, an eternal grace.
