Humiliation Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Humiliation

Beginning was Sour
Where was the Sweet minimal proportion?
Ah! it was there!
And
It grew, grew, grew
Until the Taste tasted
And then
Sweetness itself bred more Sweetness
The martyrdom was glory
The suffering was joy
The pain was pleasure
So was
So is
Thus shall be
And Beauty shall in these be President.
