Hurricane Closure. Poem by Safiyyah Manjra

Hurricane Closure.

Bark from a tree lays flat on the road.
From the hurricane which brought it abode.

Walking through the ruins.
I noticed in disdain,
Raindrops trickling off leaves from previous rain.

Animals gallivanting aimlessly,
Yet I walk peacefully.

Where is my home?
I feel lost no matter however I roam.

The grass is burnt from the land fire.
Acres a stretch beyond further.

I continue in search of closure.
Bypassing homes broken by this disaster.

I wonder for how long I will continue.
Amidst it all, I seemed to have lost you.
