Hurdles. Poem by Safiyyah Manjra

Hurdles.

Rating: 5.0

Sometimes all I need is a good laugh and a good drink,
With maybe a few conversations which makes me think.

Don't you for a minute wish you could be part of someone's mind?
Get wrapped up in their chime?
Not have to think about the rewind.

Life isn't as simple as telling someone you love them and having them agree,
How is it possible to gain their trust and allow them to see?

Or notice when their heart is beating faster,
Than the regular.

How do you manage to pull away from someone?
When in their absence it becomes devastating to be alone?

Such are the feelings of reading words from an open book,
Which cannot hook,
Due to the presence of a past-stimulus which left you shook.
