Husk Poem by Carsten Thomsen

Husk

We bed
as friends
lovers
soul-mates
For Fun
and sports
and good health
and no
reason at all

You were a flirt
Engaged
wild and crazy
Going though
men
wallets
hearts
bedrooms
and lives
and I was one
of many
past and future
encounters

I drank your venom
eagerly
Grudgingly awaiting
the day
we would wake up
as strangers
and I
broke
and drained
dry dry husk
of my former
self
