Hypocrites There Poem by Randy McClave

I watched the Republicans in Congress pray
And I remember hearing what each did say,
With a Bible in each of their hand
And how against others they were making a stand.
They have prayed diligently for an ex president
Prayers to him by them all was sent,
And they all said because he was sent by God
And how the current president they wanted to beat with a rod.
They supported a rapist, a liar and a cheat and a bully
And a braggart and a traitor who was unruly,
A person who wanted to over throw our country
And forever get rid of our democracy.
They say one thing, but they believe in something else
They keep their Bible on a shelf,
Hypocrisy is indeed a sin
That's committed by lying and evil women and men.
Republican's seemingly hate the poor and the needy
While they proudly support the wealthy and the greedy,
When cameras are on them they show their false belief
And when the camera is not, they support grief.
I have read and have heard all their voices
I read their beliefs and their true choices,
The Republicans wanted America to see and hear their prayer
What I saw and heard was hypocrites there.
