I Am A Man. Poem by Thabani Khumalo

I Am A Man.

I am a man on earth, I am just like the other man.
In heaven I'm the highest, yet on earth I stand upon the land.
I am grounded on the ground, but I'm not getting the best of the land.
I'm a man made of flesh and yet, listen to a person tell me that my flesh is not well.
We do not know what money can buy, for me, it has to buy that heaven on earth.
I refuse to succumb to the pressures of authoritative man, they are the ones who administer failure.
The power they took from the people must be returned again to the people:
and they took away the love for peace.
I blame the mother of a man that governs over my flesh;
who sends his police boys to terrorize my flesh and bones,
she should have raised him a little better.
I don't know the same thing is going to persist in heaven,
then I will say, "god should have been raised a little better."
