I Am A Social Anomaly Poem by Joann Hill

I Am A Social Anomaly

Rating: 5.0

Love me or Hate me,
I will not be moved!
I provoke change,
and remove walls that others fear to touch.
It is my plight,
it is my purpose.
I will not bend,
therefore I do not break.
Humanity is my project
and I live beyond its walls of social proprieties.
I will not be consumed with frilly things
or Cliques in stiletto Clarks.
I live to be rejected,
and I hate to be common.
I was born a black sheep,
‘an anomaly of society'.
Born free of acceptance,
free of correctness,
free of illusions of grandeur.
So I sit beyond the scenes
and break the many walls society builds...
walls of scorn,
and covertly disguised contempt
fashioned in a smile and greetings.
And I am hated,
rejected,
and loved
by those who see beyond the walls,
and through the real me,
doing what I do,
and what I was created to be...
Free! ! !
