I Am A Soldier 2 Poem by Ojeikpo Elijah

I Am A Soldier 2

In a valor's realm, where honor's flag unfurls,
I stand, a soldier, sworn to serve my land.
With heart aflame, I pledge my sacred word,
To shield her borders, with my steadfast hand.

Through trials fierce, I'll face the battle's roar,
With courage forged in duty's noble call.
No sacrifice too great, no pain I'll abhor,
For freedom's cause, I willingly enthrall.

In darkest nights, when shadows dare to creep,
I'll be the light that pierces through the gloom.
With unwavering resolve, I'll vigil keep,
Protecting all, dispelling fear's dark doom.

Though death may beckon, in the battle's fray,
I'll meet my fate with honor, come what may.
For in this noble cause, I find my way,
To serve my nation, till my dying day.

So let the trumpets sound, the drums beat loud,
I am a soldier, proud and unbowed.
In service to my country, I am found,
A guardian true, on sacred ground.
