I Am A Vet Poem by Randy McClave

I Am A Vet

I am a vet
Without one regret,
As was my uncles and father
Without a bother.
We all served our country well
As history one day will tell,
We did what we knew was right
So, we did fight.
Some of us suffered and died
But, we had God and honor and pride,
When our country did call
We knew that we might fall.
We have been called patriots
Fighting men with teeth and guts,
We have also been called a GI Joe
By both our friends and foe.
We fought in foreign lands
We died by our enemies hands,
And we have also been crippled and maimed
From which none of us are ashamed.
We are American soldiers
With patriotism carried on our shoulders,
We ignore all the lies and rumors
We are not none suckers and/ or losers.
