a monchielle*
“I am all that you need.”
I detect a low voice,
but mad enough to spit,
I am out of control.
My fists clinch for a hit.
“I am all that you need.”
God’s prompt is clearly heard.
Still raving and ranting,
deeper breaths come now with
the barbs I am planting
“I am all that you need.”
ever so faint but firm.
My loud bellowings fade.
I sense further threats but
my anger meets blockade.
“I am all that you need.”
becomes sweet memory,
His promise true and rare.
God cools my folly down
and turns my heart to prayer.
