I Am Just The Wind Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

I Am Just The Wind

Rating: 5.0

I rustle among your poems
and breathe against you just to breathe you in
I feel your heartbeat within
touched by your confessions and your sin
Though every colorful balloon of love I blow to you
you pop it with your pin
My care for you regroups
and struggles to rediscover the care that you rescind
I linger where I feel your heart
and try to comfort you though we're far apart
I blow you kisses
But with your silence you say I've somehow sinned
You look out at the shore and see beauty but you don't see me
Though in my heart I rush to you and imagine we were free
from all the hurt and pain that life has on us pinned
This morning, in the Winter of hope
I kiss you as you're gently sleeping
and you may frown but I just grinned
I snuggled next to your softness
In your sleep you feel so serene and gentle
and I'm feeling welcomed and less chagrined
In the early morning sunrise our souls finally meet in love
and unfurl as if our bodies have been shed or skinned
You are the ocean and I am just the wind
