Personified moon
And all of its mysteries
The light and the dark

The shining crescent
The early daylight delight
Who's well known and bright

The hidden dark side
Untamed ruler of the tides
Misunderstood and unexplored

The full moon appears
In all its scars and glory
Telling its story

They still don't get it
They still misunderstand
I give up, I quit

I'll keep my secrets
They'll flip the page when they want
