I Am Me Poem by Gavyn Leavitt

I Am Me

She's beautiful,
But she can't see it.
Not can't, but won't.
She won't look.
If only she'd look,
Then she'd see.
She'd see what I see.

Wait...

This isn't real.
This is the usual stuff.
Love or depression.
Man that ain't real.
It's stereotypical.
Screw the stereotype.
I'm me, not you.
I'm angry.
I'm happy.
I'm depressed.
I'm relaxed,
Even if just on the surface.
I'm envious.
I'm annoyed.
I'm in love.
I'm me.
Not you.
Screw you.
And screw you too.
You need to leave me be.
Let me be.
Let me see.
I want,
And I need,
To do me.
You do you,
And let me be.
