I Am Me Poem by Sule Abdulai

I Am Me

I am me
Suleman, Wineyam
The cripple who walks on the moon
I eat my thoughts in silence

I have won the hearts of mermaids
Hearts of angels
With artworks

I have spoken to the kings
Sang for rulers
They die to listen

My tears can make this ocean
I am a sole being
The rain in your forest
The bile in your honey
The sun of your day

The third son of Awineyam
Prince of Subeigah Kingdom
The beat in the heart
Of the ant
Yet heard beyond heaven and earth

I am who I am
Accept me
Reject me
But I am still me
