I Am Not My Body Poem by Leaking Pen

I Am Not My Body

I am not my body.
No pain, sickness or even death itself,
Can imprison my soul in their finite sliver of an earthy existence
I am the light that ignites the Sun and the galaxies beyond,
My soul is the heart that sparks every star in the universe.
Don’t look for me in a six feet under physical place,
I never perished.
I am the wings of eternal life,
On one of my many infinite journeys…
Perhaps one day we might cross paths or not,
Then why should we bind each other one more time?
But know this; you too will never look back,
On the prison this body of ours
Held us captive against our imaginations!
