I Am Not That Liar Poem by Mohammad Younus

I Am Not That Liar

I am not that liar—
the one who sings of sorrow in verses
yet never weeps.
Let the sky shatter into shards of light,
let the earth tremble and crumble beneath its weight—
the divinity within me will not perish.
Even doomsday, with its roaring flames
and whispered promises of annihilation,
cannot touch the core of my being.

I am the stone—unyielding, ancient,
yet alive with the fire of the eternal.
I am the poet, whose heart beats
with the rhythm of awakening,
whose soul bears the weight of truth.
Do not cast upon me doubt or scorn—
I speak not in riddles, but in revelations.
I am the truth.

Perhaps, when you glimpse my essence,
when you see me not as flesh but as flame,
you will tremble.
You may even gouge out your own eyes,
unable to bear the radiance of what I am.
For I am no mere shadow, no fleeting breath—
I am the echo of the divine,
the reflection of the infinite.

My Lord gazes upon me still,
as He did on the day of Alast,
when He summoned me into His court.
In that sacred hour, I was chosen,
marked by a covenant that time cannot sever.
Ever since, I have carried this truth within me,
a weight both glorious and grave.
Awareness is my breath,
enlightenment my birthright.

Yet this gift is no mere blessing—
it is an oath, eternal and unbroken,
a bond that ties me to the divine
as long as the stars burn in the heavens.
And now, I stand before you,
bearing the weight of this truth.
Add to it what you will—
doubt, fear, or reverence—
but know this:
I am not hollow.
I am not lost.
I am the truth, whole and unshakable.

When I taste the fullness of my being,
when I stand in the light of my own essence,
I know, without question—
I am the truth.
And the truth, once seen,
can never be unseen.
