I Am She Poem by wairimu Buri

I Am She

I can smile because I have cried,
I've known tears and pain my friend,
Once at the corner of an empty room,
If only i knew then what I know now,
See, those moments weren't worth my while.

I am honest because I have lied,
had to tell a million more,
Just to cover up the very first one,
Now I'll just give you the naked truth!

I am moving because I have stopped,
Out of despair and fear of eyeballs around,
I've crushed, burned and died a little inside,
I, ve been between a rock and a hard place.

So now I walk into a room, head up high, all brave,
Heads turn, don't ask me why,
This great woman I've grown to be,
Is definitely going places, you wait and see!
