I Am Who I Am Poem by Annie Long

I Am Who I Am

Remember when I was not a disgrace?
I barely do,
Now you are disgusted by my face,
All your web of lies,
They were never true,
You only want me to erase,
My days and nights are full of cries,
You never cared,
I wish I was gone too,
Wanting to cut all ties,
My heart you have ripped and teared,
All my victories and all my tries,
They were never good enough for you,
I don't know what to say,
Annie just be brave,
Since 1995 I was just a curse,
I know I have never been your fave,
Could my life get any worse?
Is it worth to save?
I know I may not be cool,
I know I may not be a sports star,
You use me like a tool,
My body is full of imperfections and rust,
You make it up by buying a car,
I have lost all of your trust,
Couldn't you get a f.cking clue?
You hold stuff against me since I was two,
People change and do what they need,
Destroying me is at a must,
It's on the list at #3,
Only behind the twins and greed,
I wish you could see,
Sure I make mistakes,
I am not who you want me to be,
No longer give,
Just only take,
My life is mine to live,
I do not deserve to break,
You only want to rate,
I got my poems,
Maybe that was just fate,
Still I'm at the bottom of the totem,
Accept me for who I am,
But its only hate,
It's just f.ck you and d.mn,
Several times you have tried to disown,
Multi-millionaires cannot afford a $150 phone,
Why did you not just get an abortion?
I wish I was never known,
Because you blow everything out of proportion,
Maybe adjust your tone,
Sure I got ADHD,
Sure I am a b.tch,
Everyone says relax your parents are rich,
So they try to use,
And you only abuse,
You wonder why I'm never at home,
Because that is not what I own,
Home is where the heart is,
And my heart is in the dirt,
Where it is covered is in pain and hurt,
Why don't you listen to this?
Money isn't everything,
It is not what makes you,
You cover yourself with gems and gold,
You might not miss,
My actions those are bold,
I can't wait till I'm free,
Maybe my heart will warm from this cold,
You keep your money,
You keep it all,
You think it's sweet as honey,
But I will get on and I will stand tall,
Get a f.cking sign,
Look through your eyes so you can see,
I may not sparkle,
I may not shine,
But I am who I am,
And that is me.
