I Am Who I Am Poem by Naih Garang

Dear friends we don't know,
Be informed we are just friends
But yet to know more of you,
Calm down and never rush with mouth,
Know me well physically
And even more of my personality,
'Cause I am who I am.

We can talk as much as you want,
But not when your rational is questionable,
Be good to convince me with logic,
Don't be nothing but just hearsay girl or guy,
That is not my friend,you're terrible,
Don't be surprise 'cause that is who I am.

Ask some questions,you want answers
For Great minds learn by asking,
Add humour into your things,
Be funny every time we chat,
Be feathery,flexible in thinking
And you will like friendship with who I am.

I am easy to deal with if you're right,
It doesn't need rocket science or a fight,
Start with basic and know my name,
Know me not from outside but inside,
Analyse my position or insight,
'Cause I am who I am.

I am more of a farmer than you thought,
That is what I do for living everyday,
That is what I have been doing and taught,
I have love for others as my hobbies
And for one on top 'am a bibliophile,
and a poet,for that is who I am.

I listen to music so much,
Be it in my native language
Or the exotic multilingual ones
I am always in them in many tones
Or tunes,not body can stop reggae
For I am who I am.

I am happy where I am,
and especially with my kids,
Wife and friends too,yes plus my work.
Not forgetting my relatives
Because through them I have reached
Where I am in today till I became who I am.

I believe in power of positivity,
Negativity in me died long ago,
I only hear it on the other side of the river
And not near me or friends I guess,
Just like kindness of heart and not ego,
Yes as human being I am also weak,
But this is the reality and that who I am.
