I Apologize - Poem by Gero Lorna
I apologize for what I said the other day
when I made you cry.
I apologize for hiding the truth and telling
you that lie
I apologize for not being the daughter that
you wanted me to be.
I apologize for not staying home,
but I needed to be free.
I apologize for not respecting you
and making you feel ashamed.
I apologize for the heartache, mother,
for you are not to blame.
