I Ask Myself Why Poem by Francis Duggan

I Ask Myself Why

Since the narcissism in others i do not like like to see
There must be a bit of a narcissist in me
Those taking photos of self i see every day
And of them i do have few nice things to say
I do not take selfies since i feel a bit camera shy
And why i do not like seeing others taking photos of self i do wonder why?
Perhaps i feel jealous which well may be
Of our flaws and inhibitions in death we only become free
I am just a poetaster who with words love to play
And the few friends i have like me strange in their way
In a Human World where many must lose for a minority to win
I am just one of those who does not seem to fit in
And what we dislike in others we dislike in self to me too must apply
And why i do not like those into taking selfies i ask myself why?
