I Chose Poem by Felix Otiende

I Chose

*I chose*

I didn't fall in love with you,
But I learnt to grow in love with you,
It wasn't due to divine spirits,
I was on my right senses,
I had chosen to take every step along the way,
Without considering perfections,
But dwell on your true side,
We had an awful start that had seem like a joke.

I had sworn not to love again,
After my pure heart had been broken into more pieces,
I never picture us being together,
After all the life's turns and downs,
After eight years of crushing and white to roses,
Finally there was a yes,
I remember vividly our first date at the pub,
We kissed on the stairs,
We seem too cheap but unique.

I didn't believe in fate and destiny,
But I was drowning in your ocean of love,
You believed in me even when I had nothing,
You made me believe we were fated to do things together,
'Cause nothing foreign decided how we had live.

You lifted me so high,
Gave me wings like a bird to fly,
I knew all along thatyou had a pure heart,
Others thought that, I was after your wealth,
But I said No! 'Cause I was after your heart,
'Cause I'd choose you over and over again,
You were my mirror and my inpiration,
We had a tale to tell for years.

I knew I was not perfect,
Let you down on many occasions,
I came in with love when youwere bedbridden for seven months baby
But I lost you unexpectedly,
Even though it was hard for me,
My heart still beat for you,
My love candle is still glowing inside,
'Cause I never stop loving you Irene.
