I Could Poem by yakubu abukari n

I Could

I could record all the audios of notes
Or make a video of each memorable moment
Or write a poem and copiously quote
Your sweet words like a poetry student

Yet how would I record each moment’s feel
Those times we laughed a great deal
Those hours that felt like seconds
When we shared experiences and narrated legends

When all seemed blissful and serene
And I felt like king and you, my queen
What device can record that emotion?
As vast as the Pacific Ocean

As surreal as a fairy-tale
Yet as real as your blue-coloured veil
Maybe we are only meant to savour
Those memorable moments as a passing favour

Not to be forgotten, yet not to be recorded
Impossible to be written so unable to be read
Due to the inadequacy of language
And the absence of an emotionometer or a suitable gauge

So as we be for each other- together
As we plan our future- together
Always remember this
Never forget this
You are the permanent solution
To the Y (WHY) in my equation
The unknown in my marital situation
Half my Deen, my queen!
