I Didn'T Mean To Lead You On Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

I Didn'T Mean To Lead You On

You took me out, for a ride
Made advances and was denied
What you were seeking
Isn't happening this evening

Now outside my home
Tell you goodnight
Said you can't be alone
I'm trying to be polite

Seems you've got it wrong
I'm not trying to lead you on
We can only be friends
I didn't mean to lead you on

You were looking
for a one night stand
and I refused
You would never understand

look, I said no, the second time
So get it out of your mind
I was only trying to be polite
Quit trying to stir up a fight

You said I am a fool, because,
I didn't play by your rules
You tried to make me feel guilty
because I just wouldn't give in
I'm sure you'll get that chance
Meeting another at first glance
i'm only trying to be polite
I only said it out of spite
Don't think we can be friends
Don't ever speak to me again
I didn't mean to lead you on
