I Do Poem by Ming Guo

I Do

Love is both a piercing arrow and a healing salve.
It is impossible for me to be hit by love
For my skin is too thick for it to penetrate.
I am too blind to catch its eye.
My ears are too deaf to hear its symphonic song.
Its sweet smell cannot twitch my nose.
The taste buds in my mouth are too numb to drink in its glory.
Love looks like what a a storm might sound like.
Then why do I see, feel, hear, smell and taste love the way Romeo of the Montague's did here at the shores of California?
Maybe love has hit me, me who was too thick of skin, too blind, too deaf, too numb to taste it.
Today the birds are singing, the sky is blue, the clouds are gone, and the sun is bright.
I have not said 'sup in a while,
It must be because I grew old and changed my clothing.
I remembered all those people who have said 'I do' in front of the minister.
The everlasting ring of love and prosperity were always exchanged between the two.
During those times I was as much in love as a brick would be.
Now I would jump through the floor and fall away from gravity to just tell this person how I feel,
Though for the time being, I would not say a word.
She would be with someone else, while I faded into the background.
So weak, so fragile my armored soul has become, broken has my once strong will become.
To forget her, I have always loved her.
사 랑 을 잘 모 르 겠 어 이 렇 게 다 가 올 줄 난 몰 랐 었 어
So as I close my eyes to take in the day, as I soak in everything that has happened so far,
As I slowly try to cope with the arrow that love has hit me by,
I'll be waiting here for you.
