I Do Not Wish To Meet Him Poem by Francis Duggan

I Do Not Wish To Meet Him

When he sing his own praises I pretend not to hear
So good I don't meet him often just a couple of times a year
I know about his top job and his expensive new car
And he feel so proud to tell me of how great his buddies are
I pretend to feel interested though I find him quite a bore
Of how marvellous a man he is he has often told me before
Of his beautiful and intelligent children and his lovely and talented wife
The World revolves around him and his wonderful life
I've yet to meet a perfect person not one I can recall
And apart from him being a braggart he's not a bad bloke at all
The angry word aggressive to him does not apply
He is a gentle person he would not harm a fly
Yet I do not wish to meet him he is a known windbag
And I don't feel happy in the company of one who likes to brag.
