I Don'T Wanna Be A Lost Cause Poem by Vanessa Roman

I Don'T Wanna Be A Lost Cause

Rating: 4.5

I don’t wanna be a lost cause
People ask me something and there’s always a slight pause
I wanna be some one in my life, not because of my charm
I been feeling a harm
Something like the sound of a fire alarm in my heart

It wouldn’t hurt so much to be at the top of the chart
And even if I fall I kno I gave it my all; stood tall
Even though people didn't see what I saw
Only one was my fam who've been by my side all along
Through right and through wrong

They knew I could shine but it was gonna time
I just needed to set my mind and not hide
Cause I can't let the cards keep falling like they have

I gave this piece extra credit for it is addressing a large audience with good advice. I wish poetry's audience was larger but a lot of damage has been done and it will take time. GW62
