I Dream Of Poem by Edzel Frince Bual

I Dream Of

I dream of having an electric mixer
so I can beat my eggs until they're stiff peak
and I can finally make soufflé pancakes.

I dream of having a heavy-duty blender
so I can buy peanut butter, fruits, nuts, and fresh milk,
and finally make a protein shake.

I dream of having bare walls I could paint
so I can finally draw my dreams.

I dream of having a large sofa
so I can lay down on it like I'm in bed.

I dream of having pillows, curtains, carpets, and rugs—
I love soft things.

I dream of having warm lit lamps
in every room I will have.

I dream of having a balcony
so I can chat with birds in the morning.

I dream of having a De'Longhi,
so I can make my own espresso coffee.

I dream of having many spinners
so I can control my BFRB.

I dream of having a desk, a cabinet, and a drawer
where I can put all my pen and paper.

I dream of having an insulated roof with a ceiling
so the all-year heat can't bother me—
although I will miss hearing the rain's pitter-patter.

but, of all...

I dream of having a voice
that will not drown in silence
because of one's loudness.

I dream of living in a home
where my father is a father figure,
not a dream-crusher.
