I Dreamt A Dream One Night Long Ago Poem by Sarah Elizabeth DuVal

I dreamt a dream one night long ago,
Of our lives crossing paths and then merging back together,
With darkness between the times altered.
If aligned, the dream and our lives,
Seem to match perfectly,
Our paths merged in sixth and eighth,
Ninth, eleventh, and twelfth too,
With 'darkness' in seventh and tenth,
And two years after high school.
Now three years past,
Our paths have merged again,
Just as in the dream.
I dreamt a dream one night long ago,
Of our souls becoming one.
