I Fail, She Prevails Poem by Lucas Pate

I Fail, She Prevails

I fail, She prevails.
Left buried in ashes,
While she disposes of the matches.
Left to drowned,
While she heads for high ground.
Left speechless as she walks away.
A common theme,
She prevails, I fail.
t was nothing to her.
She continues on strong.
I'm stuck in an endless bog.
If it's truly my fault,
Why am i the one hurting and she is long gone?
It didn't even phase her.
Stuck in a vast desert of nothingness,
While she's flying sky high.
Did she even try?
She was a priority.
I was an option.
Not even a memory.
Left to pick up the pieces.
She never crumbled.
Strong as the great wall.
A transition she made easy.
But i can't even build up enough strength to get off the ground.
My town pillaged.
Her's rich in triumph.
She soars.
I'm stuck at a crawl.
I'm left in ruin.
She has struck gold.
She wasn't even tested.
I was beyond battle worn.
What can i say?
She sunk my ship.
The game is done.
I was played.
The quick sand consumes me.
She prevails, I die inside
