I Forgive You Poem by Angela McCune

I Forgive You

Abstract thoughts of disbelief,
Heartache mounted by a wall therefore preventing me much needed relief.

Time has allowed sadness to grow feverishly throughout my days,
I bow to Jesus and fall gently to my knees to pray.

Glory to the King of Kings his greatest I lift,
I am thankful each moment for all my blessings are gifts.

I ask my father to forgive you for trespassing against me,
I know that God grants mercy and will bring me to victory.

I mourn your loss and feel pity for your soul,
And weep that you are not whole.

I see your shackles that weigh a thousand tons,
What you have sown has begun.

Shattered are the mirrors that keep you vain,
Solitude will intently follow your pain.

You are distraught due to reality sinking in or perhaps coming to light,
Your consequences come to past from the choices you made that were not right.

I told you that I am not bitter and do hold on to resentment,
I leave it in God’s hands to pass judgment.
