Rain Poem by Angela McCune

Rain

The rain fell against the window all was silent,
I could hear a bleak emptiness that was patient.
A silhouette of the dim candle flickered against the wall,
Darkness was upon me and continued down the hall.
I could feel the softness of the blanket wrapped around me,
I was warm but knew the coldness as I breathed.
As I sat there thinking about my sorrow,
I knew that each day brought another tomorrow.
Sadness that you bestowed upon me,
All the anger I feel for you all of this grief.
A tear dropp fell down my cold face,
Thinking and thinking about how we use to embrace.
You left me with scarred emotions outlined layers of pain,
I think what hurts the most is your lack of concern felt in vain.
You came into my life like a whirl wind of a great storm,
Tragedy of a broke down actor too tired to perform.
You lied and pretended to be someone you never knew,
Now I am left alone trying to figure out my next move.
Not only do I have to pick up these pieces you left behind,
I have to deal with the memories left in my mind.
The rain fell against the window all was quiet but me,
I held onto my pillow and screamed.
