I Found A Friend Today Poem by Erik Gillette

I found a friend today!
and im cheerful as can be
makes me feel that i'll be okay
and have fun climbing some trees

I found a friend today
and all seems well
The first person i dont have to pay
and no ones gone to ring the knell

I found a friend today
and im not sure what to do
I just think 'what did i say'
or am I the only one to sue

I found a friend today
or at least thats what i thought
Apparently this was a prepay
and well I've never been the one most saught

I found myself today
looking for a way out
and in my rage as I laid
the exit seemed quite stout

I found a way to end the pain
of losing every single one
It involves never using a cane
and to never again see the sun
