I Had In Me The Endless Play Of A Child Poem by Shalom Freedman

I Had In Me The Endless Play Of A Child

I had in me the endless play of a child-
I played my life away
True from time to time
Reality gave me knocks on the head
But somehow I have gone on playing-

Harder knocks may come soon
But to the end or almost to the end,
I will go on writing these lines.
