I Have Done Little Today Poem by Shalom Freedman

I Have Done Little Today

I HAVE DONE LITTLE TODAY

Night is coming,
Darkness will soon be here-
Twilight is empty and cold-

I have done little today-
This day will never return.
I do not know
How many days I have left.

I should have worked today
In a true way-
I will never have this day again
And I largely wasted it-

Now before the night comes
I write these lines
Dreaming
They will one day,
Mean something.
