I Have Nothing To Say Anymore Poem by Shalom Freedman

I Have Nothing To Say Anymore

I have nothing to say anymore
Of any great significance to anyone
For so many subjects
I once thought myself expert in
I recognize far greater experts than myself
Once it was easier to think myself ‘original'
Now it is so easy to readily disprove this
Humanity really does not need me
I have no major discovery for it
All of this troubles me
I need and want to give to humanity something big
I have nothing big to give
Perhaps nothing small either
It is a shame perhaps
But I am only one of the many billions who have been here
And have knowledge and thoughts on many great questions
But I have no Idea no Theory no discovery no invention of my own
Which Humanity needs
Goodbye Mr. Pretension
Your writing like yourself
Is as important
As a used knish.
