I Have So Much Sadness Poem by Shalom Freedman

I Have So Much Sadness

I HAVE SO MUCH SADNESS

I have so much sadness
Much more than I will ever need
I would like to have less
But there are so many sad things now
Friends with major illnesses
Violence surrounding us and attacking the innocent
My sense of my own failing those I most should not fail
The feeling of having worked a lifetime and achieved so little
So many things
Many more than I can enumerate here
I have so much sadness
And unfortunately
More reasons than I need
For it to be justified.
