I Have To Wear Poem by Neela Nath Das

I Have To Wear

Travelling on the horse of Time
I came to hug my life.
The eternal truth of life and death
Could not take away my happiness.
I knew I am lesser than death
Yet not greater than life.
Today becomesyesterday,
And I would lose the race.
But, I laughed and leaped
To drink the beverage of life.
Death was then keeping pace.
I grew I understood all,
I fought and quarreled to win
Thinking me a queen I bet on life,
White shroud covered my face.
My soul started its journey for new abode
Leaving my loving body unwillingly.
The mystery remained in dark,
I have to wear another dress.
