I Heard The Footfall Of Phalgun Celebrating Vasant Mahotsav Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

I Heard The Footfall Of Phalgun Celebrating Vasant Mahotsav

In the forest tract
Looking coloured-coloured, hued-hued,
Catching our fancy and dream,
The tree tops looking lovely
With tender red leaves and greenery
And the blossoms decorating the twigs,
The winds blowing hard sometimes
Marked with the flutter and fall of dead and dry leaves
And swirling at some nook and corner
And a sweet scent enveloping the tract
And maddening with redolence and imagery,
Scenery, panorama and landscape,
Has Holi really come
As the village folks have started singing Phag malhar,
I can hear the drum taps
And songs sung in favour of Vasant and Phalgun,
Colour, joy and gaiety, jubilation, glee and change in spirit
To mark, how does Nature change in its attire shedding old one,
Looking afresh, new and colourful,
I can see the the Phalgun winds so frolicsome and playful
Singing the song and passing by,
How the change is,
What is that catches our fire and frenzy?

N.B. The title too is a part of the poem. Hence, start it from there.
