I look at the clock

When you will be back

I look at the ceiling

What you are doing

I look at the computer screen

Who you are talking to
Knowing full well
That person isn’t me

I look at the night sky
And wonder
If it can compare to your beauty
Knowing full well
It can’t

I look at the passing cars
And wonder
If you were in one of them
Knowing full well
You are a thousand miles from here

I look at the photos in your wallet
The friends you love so deeply
The guys who caught your attention
And wonder
If you knew there was one more person in your life
If you knew someone loved you this deeply
If you knew that you caught more than just my attention
Knowing full well
You don’t.
