I Know Why The Rain Falls Poem by Noble Neruda

I Know Why The Rain Falls

I know why the rain falls
I know why the drops in my face slowly crawl
Through me, under me
It is not a lesson so that the next time you remember your umbrella
But a blessing that helps life grow
Yes I know why the rain falls
It cleaned the blood of my brother that was stabbed for a bottle of Brandy
It cleaned the blood of my sister who could not live because of her sexuality
Yes that is why the rain falls
It hides the tears of the broken hearted girl who could feel the juice in between her golden legs
It hides the knives on everyones backs
And the feet that walk with story telling cracks
Yes that is why the rain falls
It wet my school clothes
That is when I knew education is crucial
It gave flowers another birthday, they grew
It gave today a new meaning, they knew
This is why rain falls
To bless me
To mend me
To comprehend me.
