I Know You Taught My Children Poem by Jean Penner

I Know You Taught My Children

I know you taught my children,
I heard a father say,
I see in them an image,
Of the things you do and say.

They walk with words of wisdom,
Their minds are set to soar,
They're heading for a future,
You have prepared them for.

I know you touched my children,
I heard a father say,
I see in them a difference,
As I watch them work and play.

You've given them a reason,
To believe in who they are,
Their dreams will have no limits,
As they travel to the stars! !

I know you've loved my children,
I heard the Father say,
I heard them softly whisper,
Your name as they just prayed.

Though time will pass between you,
Their hearts will keep you near,
You touched them for a lifetime,
By teaching them a year!
