I Left My Alibi In Room 104 Poem by Justin Mata

I Left My Alibi In Room 104

He stays up all night to try and catch her in the act
And he knows she'll be sneaking through that door any minute
There she stands with no excuse and no escape
Her blood red hands are giving her away

The smell of intoxicating sins is wrapped around her neck like a noose
Waiting to claim the consequence of her dirty little secrets
Another tragic story, another predictable ending
With lust and lies that compromise everything she's worked for

What to say now? how those words had come so easy before
She surrenders and her hands catch her tears as she falls to the floor
Gasping for air to beg his forgivness
But her meaningless words will never reach his ears
