You enter my mind
without notice, without knocking.
I let you stay again and again.
At times your visit is brief, but often
you linger and stir my sentiments
as you pace about in my thoughts.
How like the wind you are;
sometimes a gentle breeze
warming my flesh and spirit,
at other times, cold and vicious
as you storm your way in
shrieking and howling
rushing this way and that
making me shiver with the tone
and choice of your expressions.
I make plans to shut you out
but change my mind every time.
When you arrive in my thoughts
I let you stay as I have done
since your first entrance
when I made your acquaintance.
