In a smooth looking hotel, She stood by the door
Had a look on her face, that I'd seen once before
While her makeup was running, down her pale beaten cheeks
Here eyes were heavy and her face was white
Looked like she'd been dead for weeks

I couldn't stop wondering, who is it to blame
I wanted to find the man, and put him to shame
She walked with her head down, She was terrified
the tears burned as they ran down her face
she wanted to run and hide

Look in my eyes to see the proof that I will always bet there
And what you're gonna see
is you can count on me
Look in your soul and you'll know that I will always be there
On your darkest night
together we can make it right

I walked to her very cautious, she turned 'round and looked away
she started to walked away, but I asked her to stay and I said
'Tell me, what's the matter? Say, what is wrong?
What is it that's tugging, on your heart so strong? '

She told me her troubles, I held her so close
She reached in her purse for her drugs, so she could take a dose
I said 'You don't need to take those pills any more
They're the source of the problems in your life.' Then they hit the floor

Her head hit my shoulder, she started to cry

'I Cannot remember the last person who did care
I guess I don't really understand why you'd think I'm worth the ware' (so I said)
' I really don't know you, but you need somebody here
I will helpyou with your troubles and I'll fight away your fear
