I Love The Light— Poem by Mohammad Younus

I Love The Light—

I love the light—
it reveals the path before me:
each blind turn, each stone,
each singing bird,
each whispering blossom,
each work of art
and fragment of history.

The light is a teacher;
it shows the way,
walking beside me—
unless I retreat to the shadows.

I love the darkness—
it cradles my body and mind,
revealing the stars and the moon,
a tapestry of hope woven in the void.

In its silence, I sit alone with myself;
I sit with the divine,
wrapped in uninterrupted zikr.
It hums a quiet song,
a vibration of the universe—
reminding me I am alive.

Light springs from the fire—
that warms my soul.
It is the sculptor's chisel
on the stubborn stone of my heart,
carving a sculpture of light—the divine—
that I gaze upon and adore, night and day.

Light spills wisdom and knowledge—
unveiling divine mysteries,
planting seeds of growth—
that rise in its glow.

Darkness is the herald of light.
It does not bind me as a captive;
it walks beside me
as a companion till dawn.

I listen to its whispers, its lessons—
even when it screams,
when the world feels heavy
in its slumber.

For the light and the dark are
lovers entwined;
one cannot exist without the other.
The brightest day echoes
in the deepest shadow.

And the stars—oh, the stars—
sing only in the dark,
while the Great Sun sings
only in the light.

I will love the light,
and I will embrace the night.
I will feel its cool touch
spread across me for its turn,
leaving me in calm and peace,
reborn in the quiet stillness of being.

I will love the darkness.
When there was nothing,
there was darkness.

Light and darkness—
two faces of the Time Coin.
When the light returns,
it finds me stronger,
my heart larger,
my spirit unbroken.
